Had high hopes for this baby food maker. As a low-toxin mom, my research led me to this stainless steel option. After seeing great reviews on Facebook and top ratings on Amazon, I decided to purchase it. In hindsight, I should have paid more attention to the most recent reviews, because my experience has been very similar.
The first time I used it, I followed the included recipe for peas (just water and peas), but the result was extremely watery. I assumed it was user error and didn’t think much of it. The second time, I tried green beans and used less water, but it still didn’t blend properly, even on the 4–7 month “smooth” setting. Again, I thought I might be doing something wrong.
By the third attempt, I used chopped carrots with a small amount of water, and it didn’t blend at all. It was as if the blades weren’t spinning. Nothing was actually processed. I then tried the manual blend function, and it took about seven 15-second cycles to get any consistency, and even then it wasn’t as smooth as expected.
On top of that, the unit leaks if you add water up to the 250 mL line, and the lid doesn’t stay securely in place during blending. For the price, I expected much better performance and quality.
I’ll be returning this item, as it does not meet my needs.
**UPDATE #1** the company did reach out and offered to send a new unit because my experience was not the norm. I will update my review when I am able to use the new baby food maker.
***UPDATE #2 *** I’ve used the baby food maker numerous times since receiving the new one. It works well. I haven’t had the same issues with the new one. I appreciate the company reaching out and assisting! I highly recommend them and will continue to purchase their products.
